Griffin James had a laugh that was infectious and always made you smile. He was a silly, happy boy!

 

The Griffin James Foundation was born out of love, resilience, and a deep commitment to helping families who have experienced the devastating loss of a child. Named in honor of Griffin James, whose life radiated positivity and joy, our foundation is dedicated to spreading the same kindness and optimism that Griffin carried with him every day. Our guiding principle, “No bad days,” reflects Griffin’s ability to find happiness even in the toughest times.

 

Although his life was cut short, he enjoyed getting out to explore with a contagious smile on his face whether it was to the softball game down the road or traveling to Florida. Griffin got to experience frequent visits to the family cottage, a trip to Myrtle Beach where he enjoyed swimming in the pool with mom & dad, and a trip to Disney, a family favorite

destination. He was born into a hockey family and even got to experience a red wings game before the age of 1!

 

After the unexpected loss of our beloved Grif, we felt called to turn our grief into a way to support others facing similar heartbreak. Our mission is to help grieving parents and families who have lost a child unexpectedly, offering not only financial assistance but emotional support as they navigate unimaginable pain.

 

What We Do

 

The Griffin James Foundation seeks to honor Griffin’s legacy by supporting families in need. We want to provide help with funeral costs and, as we grow, aim to offer scholarships and opportunities like vacations for families or individuals who need a break from life’s hardships. We believe that everyone deserves a moment to embrace happiness, just as Griffin did.

 

Our Milestones

 

In our first year, we were humbled by the overwhelming support from our community. Over 150 people joined us at the inaugural Grif Golf Outing and Grif Lucky Strike Bowling fundraisers, where we came together not only to raise funds but to celebrate Griffin’s life. These events mark just the beginning of what we hope will be a lasting impact in honor of a truly great kid.
